The Sporadic E skip season is approaching! I usually start hearing Pennsylvania in April or May. I have been switching to my East Coast facing Lazy H and listening for it, but so far all I have heard is F layer skip. On a positive note, Europe has been coming in well into the mid afternoon in South Carolina. There has been more F layer skip from Germany than usual.

Lately, in the Keystone, we've been getting the usual southern "Mexas" stuff during the day, then it swings around at night with Washington State/ Oregon coming in. We'll be listening Night Ranger! Sparky out.

Sparky out. I talked some sporadic E skip this morning from South Carolina to Tampa, Florida, so the sporadic E skip has already started to the south. Now I just need it to move north. Night Ranger

Night Ranger I'm actually getting pretty sick of the F layer. All it seems to do is bring in a mess of S9 heterodyne. There are very few distinctive stations that can be heard above the din, and those who are are typically speaking Spanish. Sporadic-E at least gives us the ability to work some stations for at least a few minutes and actually have a bit of a conversation.

There are some station on channel 14 around Tucson, AZ that come in fairly regularly out here. I stumbled across them while checking channel 13 skip conditions. I also heard Arkansas a few minutes ago on 38 LSB, and that is too close for F layer skip from South Carolina. I still have my butt ugly Kraco waiting for a "Southern redneck special" Classic Radio Roundup videogate. Night Ranger
