The receiver is ultra sensitive, has a low noise floor, and has great audio fidelity. Selectivity is top shelf as well. The transmitter was equally potent, with tons of audio punch and, of course, that famous Browning "ping". The only negative that I can see for that radio, comes if you try to run it on SSB. The receiver is just not all that great on SSB, the BFO is also known to drift around a lot. Most people I know who had Brownings, used them almost exclusively on AM. Those of us who are in the process of collecting the vintage radios from the heyday of CB, will no doubt place a Browning high on their list. I enjoy mine every time I take it out for a ride.

Great radio. Hope it performs well for many years. Now you can start looking for the Mark I, II and IVa to round out your browning collection. Disregard those crazy eBay prices. I've found Craigs List prices are more reasonable, but I haven't seen the values of the browning CB radios going down, that's for sure.

Great radio, but I agree with Sandbagger - use it on AM only.
And if it has Nomads VFO mod installed, all the better,
