Looks like someone has been looking at Superhawkwss6's offers and figured he could get crazy money too. Superhawk has been a very negative influence on the radio swap and shop experience. Artificially inflating a radio's perceived value, and ripping off people, and yet he's still allowed to continue. I shake my head in contemplation......

I'm at a loss to understand why the mad bidding frenzy, unless it's the old shill bid trick. It's a nice radio, but not worth what it's currently at......

Sold for $355. Tough to tell from the bidders, but it looks like two low feedback bidders bid it up from $86.00.

Haha, saw that earlier and this little comment... "It has not been used since about 1980s and it worked very well the last time it was used." Always kills me to see folks asking museum prices for non-functioning equipment. And is it clean or dirty?? "The inside of each piece is shiny with a bit of dirt." Does that mean the dirt is shiny?? Good luck with that.

Oh Brother........ Some people really need a reality check when it comes to asking prices on really old equipment. That thing will need a 100,000 mile overhaul, since it hasn't been powered in over 30 years.....

Reminds me of those clowns at hamfests that would look over a radio you were selling, then lay on some sob story about how he really likes the rig, but he's short on cash and talks you down on price. You feel sorry for the guy and cut your price just a bit lower than you wanted to, because he's a fellow ham and you want to help him get on the air. You feel good about yourself, until you decide to take a walk around the fest and discover the rig you just sold, now for (re)sale on his table with a price higher than you were asking. Scum of the earth.

That is so true! Ah, Capitalism. I wouldn't mind it so much if they would pay my asking price, and then thought they could get more for it. But don't give me a bogus sob story trying to way undercut my price in order to increase your profit margin. That's just bad ju-ju.......

I'm not surprised. Superhawk is notorious for crazy prices and shady deals. I have to wonder how many suckers would actually pay for his items.

What makes me laugh, when you look at his Browning Radio Specimens, he claims to have been a Browning Dealer for over 30 Years and he is only 53 Years of Age... Browning has been out of business for quite some time... I see he is also criticized within World Wide DX's Online Forum... He is mentioned by his Legal Name there... His name also identifies him as an Auctioneer on an Auction Website with the same Phone Number, so I can speculate where he gets all the Radio Stuff... www.auctionzip.com/AZ-Auctioneers/63168.html Google Earth shows a Residence in a residential area and not a commercial business... I see no business website or other business address... Seems to be a Horse Trader / Wheeler Dealer... He might be just another Tech working out of his House... He does offer Radio Repair on EBay too... I admit, he does offer some nice stuff, BUT his prices are insane for it... I wonder IF he even let's the Body Cool-Off of the Silent Key, BEFORE he contacts the Widow I have heard that some of these Horse Traders even monitor the Obituaries looking for mention of whether they may have been Licensed Radio Operators... Then they contact the Widow to offer them help by liquidating the SK's Radio Equipment in order to help the Widow pay for Funeral expenses... Hoping to take advantage of them by offering Pennies on the Dollar for it... Let's face it, one has to lie to their Wife about how much some of the Equipment costs, otherwise they would not be allowed to buy it LOL... So the poor Widow practically gives-away the Equipment, not knowing the Actual Cost or Worth I'm cheap, or Poor, so I only look for broken Equipment on the cheap LOL...

He's just a radio flipper. I doubt he would put the effort into reading obits and looking for SK listings.
