Saw this posted else-ware and wondered if any one has done this mod to their Panasonic tube CB radio chassis ? What exactly does it do to increase modulation by putting a cap and some diodes in between the modulator tube and pin 9 of the final tube? Will it decrease the life span of the 6BQ5 final tube? Modulation Mod schematic found here: www.cbtricks.com/pub/secret_cb/vol_24/graphics/secret_cb_vol_24_pg48.pdf

I'm not sure, but I'd be willing to bet that the modulation waveform will be somewhat distorted (but the meter will swing!). I'd have to try it to see what it does.

6BQ5 pin outs: Maybe next time I have one of those chassis on the bench I'll try it?
