Hello All!
I am working on a Siltronix 1011D I picked up at a nice price off of Ebay. It receives well and transmits. My issue is the S meter. It does not respond at all on receive but responds properly on PA Bias check. The S meter adjustment pot checks out okay at 25k ohms and the slider varies the resistance smoothly when adjusted up and down. I traced out all the wiring and connections to the S meter circuit and switch and all connections seem to be in proper order. When I power up the radio the S Meter should move up to full scale then back down to zero, but it does not move at all. Even adjusting the S meter pot on the back of the set does not move the S Meter more than the width of the pointer. If anyone can shed some light on where I should look next, I will greatly appreciate it! This has me a bit stumped as I seem to be chasing my tail trying to troubleshoot it.

R704 is a 47k resistor attached at one end to the wiper (center lug) of the S-meter zero control. Only way I can see for the meter to remain at zero in receive is for the S-meter zero pot to be bad, or for R704 to become an open circuit. Check the resistance of the S-meter zero pot from center to the lug on each side. If it's a totally open circuit, that would shut down the receive side of the meter.
