Hi all!
I just need a little advice. I swapped a crystal to add the bank of channels 36,37,38 & 40 on my Regency Imperial II. I can transmit LSB on these channels on frequency. I can receive and clarify channels 36-38 very well. My receive issue is with channel 40 receive. I cannot clarify it to receive proper clear voice as I do on 36 37 & 38. If I Adjust the LSB coil to tune in & receive 40 with a clear voice, I cannot clarify 36-38 then with the vfo clarifier. Any advice as always is much appreciated!

CC Bear in mind that the Imperial transmits DSB (upper and lower at the same time). But it sounds like the crystal that gives you channel 40, by mixing against the crystal that you installed to give you 36-40, is a bit off frequency. You will likely find that channels 4, 8, 12, 16, 20 and 23 are also off a bit.

Thanks for the comeback. All other channels mentioned are on freq. What's weird is 36 37 & 38 all seem to be on pretty much on freq and clarify in the same spot in the middle of the clarifier. 40 starts coming in towards the bottom stop on the LSB clarifier but I can't turn the clarifier any further to bring it in. I suspect that if you make the same comparison on channels 4, 8, 12, 16 and 20 you'll find that they are also have the same frequency error. Don't have a diagram handy, but the crystal that's causing this error may or may not have a trimmer cap. I'll find a diagram and check back later.
