I finally found a maco slider marked the 27.3. I even got it to work. My question is this slider needs ground to turn on and off (to keep from interfering with the receiver). Where does the yellow wire hook up. I have it currently on the blue wire on the bottom of the relay. this is the only place I could find that had continuity on key up but no voltage. Is this correct? I lost the spot - it doesnt work with the slider???

They built that one with a "ground to key" on the yellow wire, and a "hot to key", as well.
No markings on the outside to reveal this difference.
Don't remember the wire color, but if you pull the shell off the receiver plug, see which color wire is on pin number 2.
Unhook that wire inside the transmitter, and hook the Maco's yellow wire to the relay where the pin-2 wire was. This will disable the "On the Air" light on the receiver.
Trouble is, this won't permit you to use the SPOT button. If you have a frequency counter in line, you may not need that.
Two sections of that relay have high-voltage DC on them. If you hooked the Maco to one of these, you might have toasted some low-voltage parts inside the Maco.
Feeding high-voltage DC into the yellow wire may cause damage to the Maco.
