I know all of these radios are different as are all of our voices.
But what setting do you use. I find for my voice (on the lower side) that about 1 O'Clock works best for me when using a D-104
What about you

I have my D201 set at 12 o'clock high. The D201A is set at 11 o'clock. Both are stock non amplified D104's that came with the radios new. Set them this way over 30 yrs ago and never changed them. Sniper ...Unit 305...OT2194

The Turner Super Sidekick is set all the way to the right. The +3 desk mike runs around 1 or 2 O'clock.

I have a great element in my D104. As you know the sound of those crystals is all over the map. And even more so now. All the years on them. I run my TTC @ 3 O'clock on AM. About 1 on SSB. I was just reading the manual and it states the same for AM AND 12 O'clock for SSB. That's where it sounds best for me.

My voice is pretty deep and coarse....my TTC is full clockwise and some say my audio is still a bit too low.

My friend sounded best at 12 o'clock, but he had a Golden Eagle mic. Not sure why he was using a power mic with that rig.
