Have 2 receivers. 1 receives good. The other 1 acts like the squelch is on all the time. Changed the tubes out of a working receiver but did not help. 238

Two things that are areas to look at would be the squelch control or the RF gain control may have gone bad. These are someplace to start looking into. I assume you see to signal on the meter. But no audio? You may have a audio amp issue also. I am just guessing here. Some of the Tech's on this site can be of better help. Good luck.

It has audio, it just acts as if the squelch is on.

Check R54, a 100k 1-Watt resistor behind the 12AX7 socket. One side should be about 230 Volts DC. The other side should be close to 50 Volts. Since R54 is a carbon-composition resistor, its value can drift with age and heat. We replace it with a 2-Watt part when it checks bad.
And this may have nothing to do with the problem. Just a shot.
Bad squelch pot is a possibility. Doesn't happen a lot.

One side has 360volts dc, the other side is 68 volts dc. It checks 68K. When i get back in i will change it an see if it makes a difference. 238

Changed the r54, but the volts stayed the same. All i had was a 110k resistor.

Have you checked the squelch control?
