Guy, selling browning coax? Browning never made coax. And I thought browning labs owns the name now. 100% shielding and claims it's better than LMR-400. Any thoughts from our other techs that know about this stuff.

A company called "Wholesale Parts" in (I think) Edmond, OK uses the names "Tram" and "Browning" both on coax cables and antennas they sell.
Gotta figure they worked out a deal to license the names.
They're a legit outfit, Been buying accessory stuff from them for years.
But like the name says, they are wholesale only. Pretty sure they want a tax number. They have a minimum order, but I can't remember how much.
Great deals on whole reels of coax. That's the only way I have ever bought it from them.

I thought Tram Browning/Wholesale parts was Browning Labs? I don't know for sure, but doesn't Glen own both?
I donno?

I thought Glenn licensed the name. I would still question them using the name. And also that it's better than the LMR stuff. Or just as good?

I thought Tram Browning/Wholesale parts was Browning Labs? I don't know for sure, but doesn't Glen own both? I donno? The guy in Edmond (Wholesale Parts) has the Tram and Browning names trademarked for accessory items and has had that for years. Browning Labs Inc belongs to Glenn and is not affiliated in any way with that business.

The coax rating is actually less, (95% shield), than Times Microwave (99%). I am using it(BR-400) on my base station. I can't tell the difference. It does the job, NO problems. Way cheaper!! Wind took down the old setup & money was tight. I like it! The BR-250 is great coax as well. Double shield and very low loss.

I came across it on the web claimed 100% shielded. And better than LMR400. I don't think so unless he ran it in conduit. I also read that some have complained about the PL259 connectors fitting loosely on this stuff. I'll stick with 9913F7. It's not like you change it every month. But at 27MHZ you could use this stuff and it may perform just as good.

well am useing some of that coax browning br400 and i cant and wont say its better then LMR400, because i cant seem to find any spec on it, am kinda pissed off because i sent a freind to pick the coax up and i wanted LMR600 he let the guy sell him that browning coax, and i thought it was LMR400 untill i put a regulor pL 259 on it, thats when i started checking, i will say this though am dumping 3500 watts in it and its doing its job, the shielding is good from what i can tell, but my concern with coax is the velocity factor.. thats important because that tells you how quick you signal is leaveing the coax and going out the antenna, theirs other factors like temp, how much heat the coax can take.. because the dielectric foam breaks down, anyway hey 2600 if your reading this post this is your name in new york, i need you to get to me because i need a ch mod for my mkIII transmitter, like the one in your profile..
