With the 2sc1969 becoming scarce, is there another unit that can be substituted with similar results ? also what gains in power can be acheived , by changing out this unit ?

Thx CBrown , now how much power gains are there with the change over, of either the 1969 or 2312 ? The 2312 is rated the same wattage out as the 1969, so you won't see any gain. If you want wattage gain, add an amplifier. Easiest solution.

Ok, I put the 2sc1969 in place of the 2sc2075 finals, in a Uniden PC66xl and a Cobra 21Ltd. The uniden would DK at about 4.5 and swinging 15 or so. After the 1969 changover, it DK's at 6 and swings 20 watts on my Dosy 1000. ..... The Cobra 21Ltd would DK at 4.5 before and swing 10 watts. After the change to the 1969 final it DK's at 5.5 and swings 16. I have a Uniden 68xl I'm going to change over in a day or so, will let you know results.

I finally got around to putting a 1969 final in the uniden PC68xl. After the 2sc1969 final , tuning L-10 and spreading L-8, it DK's 7.5 or 8 watts and swings 20 plus, with my power supply ( 1989 F-150 ) running and showing 14 volts on the meter.
