Hello. I just got a NOS avanti antenna switch of of Ebay today. Does anyone know how much power it will take?

Zman, I am pretty sure they were rated a 1k or 1.5k watts. The combination vertical/horizontal/vertical plus horizontal position switch was used for the Moonraker series so this makes me believe they would have been rated at least as much as the antennas capabilities....perhaps even higher. I can tell you that I do have one avanti combination switch inline (got it with a moonraker I picked up used) switching between the beam and penetrator with a couple positions not used,and it has seen over 800w with absolutely no ill effects. I guess it works ok. I ran my Mav 250 into it and so far no sparks or funny smells.

It should be fine (fingers crossed)...seriously, I have put over 800w into mine with no ill effects. Just fired things up yesterday to melt a little ice off the antenna lol, and as usual, all is well. I would suggest one thing though, NEVER switch positions when keyed down (power applied) thats when you will arc ! Sniper
