I have both radios, both are mine and projects. Both are supposed to be the same chassis, but are radically different on the bottom. Wires go to different locations, channel mods, etc.
Trying to repair and restore these might be beating a dead horse. I need help and need to start with correct hi-res pictures so I can undo some of these mods. For all I know, they can be hack jobs.
Thanks

Tick; There is no difference between both base stations in the main board, but the only difference between both base radios are the futures like the Mike audio and the SWR.
Example:If the radio does not have the externall mike audio adjustment you can find the VR6 AVR in its place but if the radio has the externall mike audio adjustment the radio has the three cables that goes at the externall por ajustment instead of the VR6 AVR.
The President Washington with the 858 PLL does not have the SWR future but the main board is the same.
Tick; Here it is the different brand of radios with the same main board and thats includes the base and mobile radios:
1.President Grant,Madison,Washington
2.Realistic TRC449,TRC-457,TRC-458
3.Cobra 139XLR,138XLR
4.Robyn SB-520D,SB510D
All of those radios has the same board but with different options like SWR,Modulation Meter,LED and internall lights dimmer adjustment and many other options.

The wiring diagrams are different. Different switch assemblies. The problem is that I am not sure how original my XLR is. So I wanted to get a picture of the Robyn. I knew they are similar chassis, but I still need a picture to verify.

You don't understand. There are mods in the 520D. There are SMD components, additional jumpers, etc. Have you ever seen SMD components on a 1970's CB radio?
I really need the pics.

Ups;You never told me about any surface mount part in your radio and i understand now.I got one Robyn 520D in one of my radios room and let me take some pictures in the lower and the upper side on the mainboard.
Pssssss;Where is located the SMD parts in you radio? It is because probably your radio have installed a SMD Frequency Expansion Board instead of the regular PLL frequency modifcations.

On the bottom side on the PLL. It appears instead of using standard resistors and caps, he used SMD! Also, he has several missing parts that exist on the 139XLR. Some of the same were removed from the component side, and placed on the solder side instead. WTF? There is another mod tha appears to be some sort of swing mod. It contains a transistor on the solder side.
I purchased this radio based on the fact it only had a channel mod, but that was a lie. The channel mod is not your standard 858 mod. There are caps involved. I can easily undo the channel mod. That is not a worry. But these missing components, swing mod, and extra jumpers looks screwy.
I really appreciate your help! BTW, I can take pictures to show you, if you want.
