Hi everybody, had to buy another radio today, couldnt pass up the deal. It's a United Science Labs (Dewald) Model #tr-800. Its compete other than the microphone, cosmetically in great shape, even had the octal power cord, for only $16 dollars plus tax. What little I found out online was its 5ch tx, 23ch rec, 3W, and offered new from 1959-1961. So does anyone know anything about this gem? Maybe owned one or operated one at some time. Since cb started in late 1958, I would think its a great piece of cb history. How about the microphone? Anyone have a picture or make of the mike? Ive found a Sams for it, Sams CB #1! and plan to recap it befor firing it up. Cant wait to hear from someone about it. Attachments:

Looks like Lafayette made that radio for them - that radio looks just like my old HE-15 (except for the wooden cabinet).
Looks to be in good shape, but since it's so old I'd definitely power it up very slowly with a Variac. Those old capacitors are 50 years old, and should probably be replaced. In most cases, this "recapping" is all that the radio needs to be restored to operating condition.

cbrown you were sort of right, united science labs (dewald) made it, and lafayette had them repackage it for them. they are the same radio. i just bought a lafayette he-15 to go with my tr-800. pretty much the same radio with a different paint scheme. wiring diagram is exactly the same also. I have no clue, I've been looking at the photo and I remember the jack, I just don't recall what it was for.
