I heard a couple of guys on skip talking about this antenna the other night. has anyone ever seen or used one? I looked it up on CB tricks and it was one monster of an antenna! It almost looked like it was home made.

Zman are you talking about the 3 element version, or the one that works like a Super Scanner? I too have seen these advertised back in the 70's but have never saw either up in the air nor have I heard any talk. I believe that my tech either still has one or he may have sold it within the past year. It was new in the box (the 3 element style). I would have to ask him to see if he still has it or if he sold it, and if it is sold, to who he sold it. I would like to hear it myself since you brought this up. Sniper Ps. They are strange looking with those trombone style elements!!

Turner Basekicker. Thats what i meant to post. I remember seeing those antennas in magazine ads. They were a bit strange looking, and I never thought they'd handle heavy winds. IIRC, they were a 4 element design, with 4 directional patterns (compared to the Super Scanner's 3). I never saw one in action and never knew anyone who ever ran one, so I don't know how well they worked (or didn't work). But I was always curious about them.
