First, let me thank Fixer for the excellent repair of my Browning Mark III set. The Mark III has been brought back to life thanks to the excellent work by Fixer. Matter of fact is the locals have reported back that the Mark III is the best sounding Mark III that they have heard lately (and there are a few Mark III's in my area). So, thank you Fixer for your professionalism.
Second is about repairs. For the novice such as myself, when it comes to these old time radios, and, you want them to stay alive, never ever think you have all the tools (advice included) to do it yourself. I did, and it did not work out to well. Albeit Fixer told me what I tried to do more than likely was not the cause of the receiver to fail, but that the parts in these old time radios do wear. So, if you want your tube radio to be right, let someone who can do the job right repair it.
Third is if it was not for this forum, I would still be scratching my head on what was troubling my Mark III. Several of the members gave near perfect descriptions causing the problem, and then, Fixer stepped up to offer repair work. Fixer and I made arrangements and off the Browning went to Fixer. We discussed repair options and upgrades. I took his advice and had am so very happy now.
Having wanted Brownings for several decades now, I have a set that I am proud of. All thanks to Fixer. Excellent job.
