So, it's a base-station radio, right?
You didn't say.
If it's the Mark X model, you will spend hundreds of dollars to "suicide-proof" the radio and to catch up the last 33 years of maintenance issues. The basic radio inside is a solid-state mobile circuit board. The power supply and the AM modulator were built so they would last only as long as the warranty period, but ONLY if you did NOT turn up the AM modulation. Once you did this, it would blow up in weeks or less. But since you had voided the warranty, the MH Scott Co. was off the hook for a warranty repair. And when they went out of business, it wasn't their problem any more. The "Suicide Intervention" involves beefing up the modulator, the DC power supply inside, and the heat sinks on those parts. That part of the job alone is close to two hundred bucks even if the rest of the radio is perfect. Don't see a lot of 33 year-old radios that are truly "perfect" inside. Just doesn't happen.
If the radio has any amount of use on it, the channel selector will be worn out. No replacement exists that I know of.
By the time you have spent a pile of money to put it back on the air, you will find that the receive audio has a harsh, tinny sound to it. The receiver is just too sensitive for its own good, and you will hear a lot of bleedover noises from other channels.
Not that different from restoring a 1977 car to make it into a reliable daily driver. Even if the mileage is low, you'll have to rip out every hose, belt, door/window gasket, bushing and seal.
And that's if the mileage is low.
The DAK radio looks like a Cadillac Eldorado.
But it runs more like a Yugo, even when it's in perfect condition.
