i picked up a nice galaxy 2517 base over the week end from a friend, it has 2 rca jacks on the back, one for frequencie counter and another that says rec. . is that for a recorder? jimbo

it is a very nice radio, i already traded it and some cash for a ranger 2995dx, this radio is awsome. has the same rca jack on the back, and it is for a recorder. the radio is only a couple of months old, i really couldnt afford to buy it outright at around 600.00 dollars, had to do some wheelin dealin and slowly build up to it with some radio trading, gonna keep this one, it has a switch on the back to shut off the internal amp, so i can use external one, it screams with audio with the internal and external amps, fan on the back and really sensitive receive. , jimbo

I had a 2517 once and i loved it! They use a different board than the regular galaxy radios and the 2517 wont drift like the other Galaxy rigs will. I had a Saturn once that drifted worse than a Swan 350 HF rig! LOL
