Well folks, I got a CPI 300 & a CPI 400 mobile and they are not *cooperative . Hey that's a pun , *co mean 2 and operative means working, so non co-operative means two non op radios, lol. I want to send them off to an 'experienced' tech who is ( this is important ) > a tech who has 'experience' working on the CPI breed. As RifleMan knows these old rigs are proprietary, very different inside, and not much info floating around out there. My experience is the proprietary type rigs are not beyond a good techs ability, not at all, but what I am saying is I don't like to pay $ for 2 , 3 , 4, 5, 6 hour ( or more ) learning curve for a guy who has not worked on one to map it out, were as a guy who has repaired or rebuilt one has it in his memory banks and the info still on file. I wonder if I could pull RM out of retirement and tempt him back to the smell of burning solder ,smoked finals and $ cash, hint hint, ;D lol.
