I visited a tech shop radio/repairs etc., today DEPUTY ELECTRONICS they sell CB radios..COBRA, CONNEX, MAGNUM and handful of others..all the new lines...sure impressive looking at the radios, various designs, lighting colors and additional modes etc., enjoyable looking around , prices are not to bad either in today's economic situations.

Doc, The new Connex mobile with the top gun modulator on it is a great sounding 10 meter radio. And as you say, the price is not bad.

Sounds like a batch of nice radios. They're making then now so that the do everything but brown the food, ha, ha. I'm afraid to even remove the covers on the newer rigs with surface mount parts. I just haven't kept up on the technology.

I'm used to the olde rigs with the large PCB sections. I modified my RCI 2995 so it would key my Heathkit amp. I thought my eyes were going bad until I realized just how small electronics have gotten over the years. :)

Buddy of mine had a Cobra 200. The resistors looked like micro ants. LOL

Ya, I don't envy anyone having to work on those radio boards.

Ya, I know what you mean. The components in the old tube radios are about the right size for my eyes nowadays.
