have caps all changed out, tubes tested, ready to fire up but ive read on this site that operation of this radio isnt like most. does anyone have a copy of the operating instructions or could give me instructions on how to start it up. never used a tube type cb, dont want to burn anything up. esp. the meter readings, final knob, adj. screws in side of case. any help would be greatly appreciated. i know some you have or have had this set so 1st hand info is always the best. thanks to all.

I've owned a couple of these radios over the years and they're good talkers with a good recieve sensitivity. The way that the modulation is set up you don't need a power mic and the D104 G Stand works best. There are holes in the right side of the cover, one controls the modulation and the other is for peaking the radio to your antenna, I forget which one does what. the meter is marked S, V, and C, with a switch to select the setting. I'm vague on that too but on the S setting, the meter reads out the signal strength. The V setting reads the voltage on the final and the C setting reads plate voltage , I think. These are double sideband radios so when you're in the sideband mode, you're transmitting on LSB and USB at the same time. all of this may be useful to you to a degree so an operating manual is needed. CB Tricks only has a picture of the radio but I typed in "Regency Range Gain II Operating Manual on Yahoo and found many sites with the manual. Once you deceide which site you want to get the manual from, you'll probably have to pay for it. The manual will tell you about the side adjustments and what voltages to set the meter to for correct operation. I hope that this helps you!
