Anyone know what this radio is? Think it might be from the 80s or 90s. Has am/fm/ssb/cw lo/med/hi power. Only marking is Japan on the back

I don't know what it is, but it bears strong resemblance to some of the President/Uniden type radios of the era. I notice it has six bands of 40 channels, but can not tell if it has a 10Kz jump on it. It clearly has a coarse and fine clarifier knob on it, and if it works and you are tired of looking at it, I have an address to share with you . . .
I there a way to get a more focused photo, and of the insides with the bottom speaker cover off?

That is a Nato 2000, I believe. Lafayette 1800, Superstar 1200, EARLY Cobra 148GTL-DX, TriStar 847 and probably half a dozen others...PLL02A chip and if I'm not mistaken, made by Ranger and/ or Cybernet in the late 80's- early 90's. Nice radios...single final (a 1969).3 output levels...I had a Lafayette 1800, Identical, except for the silver faceplate. Wish I never got rid of it..

Judging from what I see on Ebay these days, probably in the 75-85 dollar range, if its decent cosmetic condition. They aren't particularly rare, as I said earlier there are probably half a dozen different brand names out there...The only one I've seen command a high price is the early Cobra version. The NATO and Lafayette versions seem to be the most common. Lafayette had a 1200 (3 bands), an 1800, (4 bands) and a 2400 (6 bands) also the 6790DX(like Grumpy's pic, an earlier version of the 1200)..I like the dual clarifier set up. If you wish to sell it, PM me..I'd be interested. We can talk.... ;D

Just pulled out a few more radios. Will be going through them this week and weekend. Need to decide which will stay and which will go.
Cant believe I found a Tram D201 that I forgot I owned. Just sold my D201a. This one is not the hand wired one but is real clean.
Almost like Christmas opening up boxes that you forgot you had ;D

Ok, Was going through another small box and found some papers. Found a sheet with specs and instructions with Palomar 2400 hand written with pen. I am getting old cant even remember any of it. Anyway hooked up the radio and it works ;D. Hooked it up to my cpi freq counter and it goes from 26.065 to 28.755. Into my MFJ Versatuner II dummyload it puts out on AM right around 1 watt on low, 6 watts on med, 12 watts on high. On SSB with a whistle 4 watts low, 15 watts med, 25 watts high. Not to shabby. Now to decide what I will do with it. Posted a clearer pic below. I also found my old Cobra 148 with extras and that is also working. Bad news is I plugged in my D201 and it came on for a second with a hum from the speaker and POP goes the fuse. Not even going to fool with it. That will be sold for parts. Shame is it is in great physical condition. Thanks for all the replies. Will be posting more as I pull out more boxes. I sold almost my entire Browning collection 25 years ago but did keep a few. Cant wait to get an antenna up and get going again.

AC fuse on the back of the radio or fuse inside on chassis or on the stand up BA board? Sounds like a bad filter cap. Selling for parts might not be the best option IMO.

Fuse on the back. not sure about any other fuses? No time to fool with it and do not want to have it looked at. If I sell it for PARTS OR REPAIR someone will get what they want and I will put that money towards my station. Cant wait to get up and talking.

I didn't see your post stating which fuse to start with. I saw it after I posted. I can understand getting rid of excess and trying to get talking. I've got six or seven sets of Brownings that I need to get out of the way and get back on the air with just one. I am not going to even think about how many solid state rigs I have, not bragging, just stuff piles up after many years. Good price on what looks like a clean D201. I'm sure someone will be proud to have it.

Chevy or Ford? Browning or Tram? I am a Browning guy but like all radios. Will sell a bunch of my stuff and get talking soon. Then will wish I kept most
