I won a SBE Console 2 on E bay for $19.00. Can i mod it to go on up to CH 38? Will my Siltronix mod 90 VFO work on it?

Nice. I like it when things work out like that.

Has anyone had any experience with the Satelite Demco Tube Radios? Are they good or bad? One on ebay not tested with some tubes missing. Is worth the trouble?

Maybe. "Not tested" on Ebay means it doesn't work, and "tubes missing" means since it didn't work they pulled the tubes and sold them.
Demco radios are actually pretty nice.

Nice looking gold face radio with good audio. The internal crystals have trimmer caps next to them so you can align it. I also like the blue signal meter and the classic "On The Air" light.
I think they're based on the mobile SBE Sidebander II or III. You can find the complete schematics and service manual for the Sidebander II on CB tricks since they don't list them for the Console II. There was some difference in the two versions of the Console II's. The first version a model 16CB and the second 16CB/T. So if need be, compare the schematics carefully.
Funny how the mobile version seems to fetch a higher price on the bay than the base. A few of the local operators, including myself, still run the Console II's.

The one i have coming is a 16T so its a later model likely made towards the end of the 23 Ch era. I -HOPE- it works as the two i have had recently didn't work at all. Oh well, if not i can always get my $$$ back from Paypal... The seller said it works fine but you know how that goes...

How do you like it? I think it is a pretty cool looking, very simple, little base!!!

My Console II is a great working radio, and it's in great cosmectic shape as well. The difference in versions had to do with increases in the FCC maximum power rating. Initially, the very first C-II's had a 10 watt SSB INPUT rating. Then they bumped it up to a 15 watt INPUT. The "T" version was the final version when they increased again to the 25 watt INPUT (12 watt OUTPUT) rating that we currently use.
