DAK IX MANUAL NEEDED - TWO SWITCHES ON BACK LEFT WHAT ARE THEY? Just noticed two toggle switches on the back of my Dak IX. Anyone know what it for? Could use a manual but don't see a download for it. Email me if you can help ron222@embarqmail.com Thanks Ron Attachments:

No doubt the switches were added to expand the frequency coverage beyond the legal 40 channels. You will need a frequency counter to find out what channels they add to the radio. For that matter, you may need a counter just to find out which of four combinations of up and down gives you the normal 40 channels. There is more than one way to do that mod, so a chart of channels that will match your radio could be tough to find. Closest thing to a manual is here: www.cbtricks.com/radios/dak/mark_ix/index.htmIt's just the technical diagrams and adjustment procedures, not the full manual. A 35 year-old radio can be full of surprises, even if nobody has modified it. First thing we usually do is to rewire the mike socket so it will match a generic 4-pin mike wired to match a Cobra or Galaxy radio. The mike socket is wired differently from those if it's still factory stock. 73
