I don't recall seeing this antenna for sale lately, but it is on Mosley's web page. It looks alot like the old Radio Shack 5/8ths wave ground plane. Mosley Devant Special 5/8ths wave ground plane www.mosley-electronics.com/pages/cb/groundplane.htmNight Ranger

Actually I think that I posted a link to it a few years ago here on the forum!
It does look like the old Archer Antennas, and if they work the same that wouldn't be a bad thing as I always thought the Archer Antennas worked pretty well!

to be honest i don't think there are any spring chickens on CB any more. i think most of us on CB radio are left overs from the early 70's the 60's guys are slowly drifting of into radio heaven, sometimes i hate to ask what may have happened to a operator you may not have heard for awhile the news ain't always good. shucks i'm in my 50's now and remember the older guy that were in there 50's when i started in radio in 73 on my dads EICO 777 that i still have that helped me along with radio thru the years are all gone. but back to the Mosley i knew of a couple guys that ran them and they talked just like any other 5/8ths wave i remember talking mobile to base with one of them on SSB one night well over 80 miles. i've never seen the antennas up close but i would imagine being from Mosley and at that price they would be very well made and easy to assemble, there amature beams sure are. Mosley a long standing quality company. but one thing i must say about this forum it's got the best group of folks and is the most informative on the net. you can tell the older real CB hobbyist hang out here because if you scroll thru any of the threads you will find anything you need to know about any radio, antenna or radio assecory from A THUR Z. thank ya GRUMP & SANDBAGGER for the time and effort.

The Archer antennas were very good performers, and forgiving of repair. I wish I hadn't sold the 1/2-wave "Super Maxim" I had years ago. Mosley's Devant Special 5/8-wave is well-built, I'm sure; but a little pricey for a monobander, IMHO.
