Hope iam putting this in the right form? We all remember THE Andy Griffith Show.Does anyone know what kind of radio they used in the office of the show?How about the radio in the car? :-/3s.

Interesting subject...I love this show..I have every episode from the first on where it debuted as part of the Danny Thomas Show till it ended when Andy Married Helen in the first episode of Mayberry RFD. (I have those episodes as well.)
It really depends what season of the show you are talking about.
Early seasons, they used an Allied Transmitter with an EICO on top....the Eico had a front panel mounted key switch with the antenna jack out the top.(I don't recall ever seeing it hooked up in any of the episodes.) Later in season 4, They went to the Motorola base unit. Supposedly a VHF low bander in the 37 mhz. band. Later episodes saw the radio disappear completely in late season 8 and the RFD episodes.
A few years back, I saw a Motorola like what was in the show go up for sale on Ebay...it was "Untested" but brought 290 dollars none the less...Here's a pic from Season3 and an interesting auction on Ebay at the moment..

Doc and cbrown.You dont know how much you guys helped me.My grandpa has one that was put away years ago.He is no longer with us.I found the same kind of rig packed away in his house.Everyone wanted to get rid of it for scrap.But i got ahold of it before they did.I was trying to get info on it.ANY MORE INFO.
