My Dad and I used to talk to Zach quite often on 40 Mtrs. When he swung his full-sized-, 3-element-, 40-Mtr beam our way (mounted on a "Sky Needle" tower), he was 30-over 9 or greater. Zach was the heir to R.J. Reynolds Tobacco. Dude lived his life to the fullest. Check him out here: zachreynolds.com/#73, Randy AB5NI

If I'm not mistaken, that's a pair of 4-1000's in the background . No wonder he had a big signal. LOL. I remember one day he was telling my Dad that he had a bunch of motorcycles hanging on his wall in his living room . He was a very, very gregarious person -- that's fur sure! 73, Randy AB5NI

Hi,
I have just joined, I know this is an old thread but it came up in an internet search.
I have just purchased a Hallicrafters HT-41 linear, certainly a rare beast here in the UK and maybe the only one. The front panel has an engraved label on it with:
W4TXL Zachary Taylor Reynolds 700 Wellington Road Winston Salem North Carolina
There must be an interesting story behind it coming to the UK, it certainly didn't come as hand luggage! It looks completely original and not in too bad a shape.
