I have a question about a capacitor on this radio C23 and C24 are .1uF/600V capacitors oil type and I been looking all over ebay and the internet and I can not find the same capacitors The ones I found are not polarized or like the one in the radio, well they do not look the same to me I will really appreciate if someone will lead me to the right capacitor for replacement Thanks in advance Andy

I replaced mine with mylar caps. Non-polarized, at the same voltage rating. Mouser had them for a pretty cheap price. Yes, they will look a bit different, but they work the same.

the parts you are looking for are they in a teaberry (4011) and are they plastic looking caps if so I may have what you are looking for. I have the whole radio, but I never put the tubes in it to see if it works or not. from what I can read on 1 cap it says Atlas oil on it .your welcome to the parts if you need them, just let me know at ....mrdxer@Comcast.net will be waiting to hear from you

Hello dxerman:
Thank you very much for the offer,I placed an order from mouser electronics yesterday for the capacitors
Also I have 5 radios with the same chassis that I plan to re-cap this summer
If you willing to part with the whole radio, please let me know,I can always use extra parts
Thanks again dxerman 73 de Andy

Stick with new parts.

hi bagger its brainy the whole bottom of the radio looks brand new, i had it sitting here for about 3 yrs and like I stated before never put tubes in it to see if it works and all I was going to do with it after I moved radios upstairs out of basement was to just take it apart just like I did about 6 weeks ago I took 100 mobile radios apart just for the circuit boards ......cya

Those caps are not polarized like an electrolytic capacitor. They DO have one end marked with a stripe. This indicates the end that's connected to the outside layer of the metal foil inside. The general rule is to hook that end of the cap to the ground side of the circuit. Almost never has an effect on how it works in this sort of circuit.
