In the last few weeks sunspots have been declining fast leaving conditions in a bad stance. Once it flattens out, conditions will be poor for a number of years. This includes 11 METERS and HF bands. It is like FM in the mornings, quiet. DOCTOR/795 Attachments:

Conditions never seemed to peak at any point during this cycle, either.

This explains why it's been so darn quiet.

I was listening to Wisconsin coming in to South Carolina this morning, and I've heard Arkansas and Florida as well. Night Ranger

This explains why it's been so darn quiet. For some reason the south-of-the-border, Sweaty Maria stuff seems to hang in there far longer than anything else. But yea! quiet. But for a few weeks, we can hopefully make some sporadic-E contacts with some of the other forum members that we've worked in the past.

Conditions never seemed to peak at any point during this cycle, either. This cycle has been a strange one. Slow to ramp up, not a very high peak, then a second peak, but still nowhere near the last 2 cycles.

We couldn't seem to do more than make a quick "Hello!" contact, and it would shift away again. It should be improving now that the weather is warming up (finally!).

Hopefully next peak is better. Well, we won't know for another 8 or 9 years. Hopefully the sun isn't heading for another Maunder minimum. Not only will DX be bad, but we'll be a lot colder, which will throw all the global warming alarmists into a real tizzy.

It would be funny to see them running around with cans of Freon trying to warm the globe up again.

Bring back the "Big Hair" of the 80's and all the hairspray to maintain it, and problem solved..............
