The PDC-256 as you know is obsolete. This 6 digit frequency counter is very stable and has the offset to read AM, LSB and Yes USB( with additional wiring to turn on the USB offset). It will read the frequency accurately since the offset is incorporated into this product for the Tram D201/A. I will be installing this in my D201. Time to order grey smoke plexiglass. That's a cool one. Too bad it's too big to fit behind the dial windows in that radio.
Only ones I have found that small are a green LCD with black dot-matrix digits.
Every customer of mine to date has shown a preference for LEDs. Can't say I blame them.

I just checked. It will fit. Problem is the frosted arch and indicator mark call for removing the original lens and installing plexiglass.

It's more than just tapping in. If your frequency counter your using is not programmable it will not display the correct frequency.

Where could I connect this into the tram? Thanks

Whether it's a 23 or 40-channel radio, there will be two gray shielded cables plugged into the crystal synthesizer board. The center-pin wire of the upper socket is the tapoff point for either one.
