I remember reading somewhere about changing some capacitors that could change the transmit audio tone of the radio. I would like to get a little more high end out of my transmit and lose a little bass. Can anyone steer me in the right direction. Thank you

Usually CB radios tend to be well endowed in midrange and the upper end (which usually falls flat after 3500 hz), and I usually have to boost the low end to give it more warmth. And to do that, it usually involves increasing the value of the interstage coupling capacitors and the emitter bypass caps in the audio chain. So if you want LESS low end, then you would do the opposite, I.E. decreasing the value of the interstage couple caps and emitter bypass caps. It's really a hit or miss prospect. I usually tweak values and then sweep it with the audio generator until I get the response I want. Of course, in many cases, you could just switch to a different microphone. That might do the trick and be less involved.

I'd try a few different microphone before changing out any capacitors, too.
