Hi All! I need some advice as I might be overlooking something. Going by this crystal mixing chart for a Regency Imperial II www.cbcintl.com/XTALS/AM%2010850-8615-7500-7975.pdf I swapped the 10.850 MHz crystal with a 11.250 MHz crystal which would give me those channels. I tried two different 11.250 MHz crystals " one from Ken's Crystals for that radio and neither one will oscillate on receive or transmit. On receive I get dead channels 0n 1-4 and whatever other two channels that share one of the mixing crystals, I believe 15 & 17. Is there a coil that I may have to tweak? As always, any help is always appreciated Charlie

If the crystal you took out was marked 10.850, the socket where it was located is only active for channels 1 to 4 on the selector.
The new crystal you place into that socket will be active only for positions 1-4 of the channel selector.
If your 11.250 crystals won't run, this suggests either that they are bad, or the oscillator circuit they are meant for is radically different from the Regency.
Naturally a crystal tester would settle this question, but if the original channel 1 to 4 crystal still works properly, the new crystals are the root of the problem.
And if the old crystal won't work either, something in the radio has been compromised.

Thanks for your reply. I understand and agree with what you are saying. Ken from Kens Electronics sent me a 11.250 MHZ crystal that was compatible with this radio as per a phone conversation with him. I have the Sams PhotoFacts for the Regency II and channels 1-4 mix with crystals 8.615, 8.635, 8.625 & 8.655 MHZ crystals. Everything works fine with the 10.850 MHZ crystal so as a long shot I'm going to test & replace the 6AN8 Oscillator Synthesizer Tube and if that does not solve the problem, I will look in to getting a crystal checker. 73s
