Hey everyone,
I have been lurking here awhile, but I have been looking at pages from this forum in web searches for over a decade at least. Good to be a member now!
I picked up a MKII Golden Eagle that actually seems to work very well. So far, anyway. My issue was one that many seem to have with them. The knobs. 2600 has mentioned them many times I believe. I wanted to try something with the knobs that I have on my set that I had done elsewhere with decent to good results. I remembered I had picked up some 50/50 mix structural epoxy to fix a knife handle a few years back. I took that epoxy and mixed it, then with a small jewelers screwdriver I pushed it down into the hollow “webs” of the knobs. You may have to fill the webs, then let the air bubbles come to the top so you can pop them then repeat once the epoxy sets up. With the knobs that I have done in this fashion, I am able to torque then enough to use them. I neglected to mention that most every one I did this to was already cracked. It may be worth trying which is why I figured I would at least share my results. The epoxy I used is called T88.

I've used the System Three T-88 epoxy quite a few times, and am very satisfied with it. Works great.
And sound like a good tip for the knobs, too.
