Was working on a Connex 300x yesterday, when i got thought i unhooked the coax but left the it hooked to the power supply. Got hit by lighting threw 2 breakers. Blew the fuse in the power supply, change it, its working ok. Radio lights up, but no receive or transmit. Thinking may be the protection diode. Power supply showing 15 volts, but when plug in the radio only showing 4 volts inside radio. I have no sch so i need number of the diode. Jim/238

That diode isn't causing your problem.
Do you have a circuit-board number, like one that starts with "EPT" ?
If so, the schematic for a different brand that uses the same main circuit board would be better than nothing.

The # on the board is sh 294 HB-C. SH has a circle around it Made in Malaysia. When looking for the # i found a cap that was blown apart. It was next to the screw close to the coax connection. The # is under the ear for the screw, but i think the # is C201. The one rite beside it is # C325 # on cap is 473. Jim/238

Jim/238 Are you sure that the power supply voltage is still at 15V when the radio is switched on? It's quite possible that the lightning blew open the series pass transistor on the power supply and you are running on just the regulator output, which is low current and can't support the load of the radio. That would explain the 4 volts inside.

Could be. Tomorrow i will try it with the radio off. It should show the same with no draw. But i still have a blown cap to fix. Jim/238

It is the power supply, with radio off it will show 15 volts inside. It is a Astron ps 20. Is the pass transistors the two mounted on the back? # is 2N3771. Thanks Jim/238

The pass transistors where not the problem. Changed them. The 10 watt resisters reading .4 ohms, suppose to be .1 ohms. Got to them & a regulator. Not sure how to check the crowbar resister. Jim/238
