What is the correct resistor to change to lower the dead key on a mark 3? I’ve read R49 and I’ve read R23. I wanna do it right. Thanks!

R49, the big 10 Watt resistor. This one. 73

Thank you 2600! Would R23 do anything as far as dead key? Reason I ask is that I had a well known browning tech give me that info. (Maybe he does it a different way?) Thanks again!

R49 controls the plate voltage going to the final on AM. R23 controls the screen grid voltage. Increasing the screen grid resistor value will also lower the dead key power.

Thank you Sir. I take it R49 would be your preferred method?

Thank you Sir. I take it R49 would be your preferred method? Yep. R49 is where our variable-carrier setup controls the carrier. Mark 3 carrier controlThat has become a "sideline" effort, put together as needed, not something on the stock shelf ready to ship. 73
