Hit the "Lucky Button" yesterday!!!! Found a posting in the local Facebook Marketplace that had only been up 16 minutes. A couple full of mobile radios and a few bases, a couple of amps, a couple of rotor control boxes.
All for $50. 13 radios in all, 3 amps.
But one thing stands out as a prize..... a Gemtronix GTX-2300. Certainly not in mint shape....but really really good. Not beat up... no rust. Original mic still with it.
I want to get this one cleaned up and working... just to HAVE it working!!!!!!!
I'm hoping the GTX-2300 was a decent radio... I haven't seen a lot of discussion about it.

OG, the weird thing about this is......... it is a really small box it is in. It almost looks more like a bandpass filter. Awfully small to have that much "oomph".
And, I can't find anything at ALL on this model on the web. F100? yes. F100/BM ? Nothing at all.
I will try to go find it in a bit and get a picture or two for you.

That pair of transistors will give you about 120 watts PEP. Drive it so no more than 30 watts AM carrier power. It does appear to have a rudimentary bias circuit, so it should sound acceptably decent on SSB. |

Looks like the 10 Ω resistor on the left side of the photo is blown. And I'd check all those caps before I ran it. Neat little box, though.

I noticed that too, but after closer examination, it looks more like a splash of hardened solder flux rather than a toasted resistor |
