I read it on worldwide radio here it is below:
Please note that these products, even though shown here under a different name, are now combined and distributed by the newly revived Palomar Electronics. This company is a revival of the original Palomar Electronics and well known for their quality products in the past. The original founders of Palomar Electronics have now passed away, including Sam Lewis Jr. (RF Limited) of whom will be sorely missed in the industry! Eric Lewis has now taken charge of that company and will eventually move all of the past and famous brands back under the original Palomar Brand name!

Since the passing of SAM LEWIS, the company will keep producing radios. He came from the old company PALOMAR ELECTRONICS, and the company will move all their models to be known as PALOMAR ELECTRONICS in the near future.
Just read that information.. DOCTOR/795

I am curious, I have one of those, and the swr around 1.3 to 4. Anyhow I have the GPK on it, but the other day, I took the GPK off, and noticed NO difference except the swr dropped to 1.1, I left the GPK off. Anyone else notice any difference with the GPK, just curious. For the weekend I am on chnl 36 lsb/usb, give us a shout. DOCTOR/795

I believe some forums also have a decline on postings, probably because of warm weather outside, not on the computer.
Some sponsor contests, I joined the contest on amateur bands, and you know what happen, I won with ready for this...2 contacts with club members, and they have hundreds registered.
Anyhow keep on posting, and try channel 13, I leave it on, , when skip isn't in.

If you have a land line phone and use a WALLY WORLD power supply, it is great it wipes out a few channels on your cb radio. This CHINESE stuff has no filtering at all, although their H/T radio are good quality, I had one in my hand last weekend, well built and the UHF model worked good, and no I did not buy one for $30... WELL today, I decided to take the GALAXY 979 to be peaked/tuned and try to get it more on frequency, so the shop is 37 mile drive up to SEYMOUR INDIANA. I have been wanting to do this for a year but to lazy. The technician<ham also> aligned the radio set the dead key for low and high and it was a great job and works well and is more on frequency in fact 100 percent on it, a great job. Now we have a good working radio. DOCTOR/795

I put up a imax2000 a while back and it is what the manual says 1.5 to 1.6 or 7 on the 11 meter band. No problem..
I picked up a ldg auto tuner z100 over the weekend, and hooked it up to my GALAXY wow, swr now 1.1 and seems the radio loves it on am or ssb. Should have one of those all the time for the antenna.

Nice looking radio. My friend had one of those 30 years ago, if I remember right you could clip some wire and increase the power , it was a screamer on audio/modulation. The days when CHINESE was not heard of in the market. DOCTOR/795

It is all money anymore. The FCC allows about anything in now days. About all the radios for 10 meters are easy modified, snip a wire or move a jumper and they know it.

I was at a hamfest this weekend, saw a SBE 40 CHANNEL BASE UNIT, all kinds of switches on the panel, and knobs, looked like it just came out of the box, guy refurbished it, also had a cobra 2000 gtl I believe it was called, SBE $40, and the cobra $150, looked like new also.
NO buyers when I was there, nice to see old equipment still there and working. DOCTOR/795
IT was a SBE 40CB CONSOLE V

I never saw much about it afterwards after all the predictions.

I read all these reports that a solar flare is coming today, nothing here at all and signals on 75 are good this evening. Hopefully 2 meters should be good if the solar flare would arrive. Also have 146.43 simplex on, stations in NEW YORK usually operate here on openings on FM. DOCTOR/795

In cruising the few other forums I stick my head into, I found out there are a number of guys still use it on ssb<lower> in FLORIDA in the evenings, and also some CANADIAN stations still use it when the skip is their way. Think I will park on 16 for a few days since skip has been in daily. DOCTOR/795

Anyone remember the old days, where ssb was used on channel 16?, just curious, I heard some ssb on it the other night when the skip was in, could not tell where they were. I ran into a group on YAHOO channel 16 group and the old RC channels, not much activity on it though. Anyone ever use anymore chnl 16 for ssb, if so, will park there for a while. DOCTOR 795
