I have acquired a teaberry model t base radio, the power plug is MISSING in the back, I see by the diagram it is a 8 pin plug, using 2/3 for the ac power.....Anyone have one of those power plugs in the junk box????or does someone make a substitute plug for this antique.. DOCTOR/795

Most cb base is as you guys say an empty box, just big bucks, just get a hf radio with all the bands, more money for the buck.. You can go to qth.com and under hf radios buy an Alinco dx70th for $350 used and it has all bands, and convert to 11 also or have someone do it for $60 and you have a 45 watt am radio and 100 watt ssb. and all frequencies. I dont think it matters with the clarifier, my 2547 doesnt have it and I make just as many contacts with it as I do on the 959 which the clarifier is open..to each his own..

I have one, I have the lower chnls in it, some chap ..wolfman put them in, he ran a wire from the pll chip to the anl, He got the wiring from some cd volume he has for mods.
It works good, runs around 10 watts from 3 watts dead swing, just a weee bit of lighting dim when I give it to much modulation, but it works great.

It worked, but if your worried about the power changes just adjust to 100 watts on your radio, also make sure your swr is down<you probably know that>, it is working probably because of the multiples in frequency 14.300...28.300 x 2 etc... DOCTOR/795 WWW.HAMSPHERE.COMCQ 100 28.360 ...

If you put a better antenna on it, it will improve your transmission and reception...
A Wilson mag mount 1000 will get you the extra boost. If you take your antenna coax, and a foot or two from the radio wind a loop 4 turns and secure with tie wraps in a 4 to 5 inch circle, you will see less noise, a quieter receiver and should see a flat swr and a big difference.
ALWAYS remember there are 2 meters for the customer..the sales meter and the technicians meter..obviously you will only see the sales meter for all the NEW readings.

Keep the cobra, put the amp the other suggested, and you have 65 watts out then. No on the Uniden, you can buy a used multimode radio for that. Wilson mag 1000 great antenna. Try Sparkys in Ill, on the web, ask him about the amp and install...
I forgot, I wouldnt buy on ebay..over priced all the way.

I would choose a wilson 1000, I have had many antennas and that is the best for ME. I talk home at 40 miles all the time and that is running no excessive power less that 15 watts.
If you only get 2 or 3 miles, there is a BIG problem, and you dont have to send your radio away to peak/tune just look it up on cb tricks, follow the simple steps.
In the long run it is the ANTENNA you use..........and the coax..

I find most hams want to show you the rules and regs, and try to bring those up or the local ham marshals<sickening>, and go listen on 20 and 75 meters, know it all......The ham license is easy to get a few nights of memorization and take the test, not like the test years ago, theory, circuits and etc. I stay away from the marshals who know it all. I operate ham, cb, murs, gmrs and enjoy it all without the know it alls...
HAVE FUN AND OPERATE

If and when you use the cobra use a red devil amplified mic on it, it then comes alive. If you open it up you ought to tweak the modulation on it and you can squeeze the coils a weeee bit for 16 to 18 watts of power. My friend has one and gets out good around the county.

SIRIO 2016 under local conditions I get 45 miles all the time, and with skip world wide. SWR is a flat 1 to 1. Assembly is partially completed for you, holes drilled, just push sections in and tighten down with screws, then slip over the water proof casing on each area. Where your pl259 is attached it has a water proof shell also. Assembly time less than 30 minutes, a one man job to erect. My antenna is mounted on a tripod off the roof. Also it is flat <swr>on the lower and high channels also.
